I got a '93 XLT SKS tach off of ebay and it has 2 wires to it, a brown and a yellow. Anyone know how it hooks up?

My scrammy is a 4 stroke not a 2 stroke, there seems to be lots of posts about a 2 stroke but none for hooking up a 4 stroke.

 

Under the hood on the far left side when facing the machine, there is a Yellow/Red. I know there is ALOT of yellow/reds under there, but it is on the far left side. You might wind up doing some trial & error.
I had to do alot of it until I found the right one. The easiest way is to ground it first, ( which is the Brown ) find the yellow/red, wire strip off some of the coating, start the engine & touch the tach yellow to it. Like I said before, there are many yellow/reds under there, don't be surprised if you don't find the correct one on the first try. Good luck & let me know how it turns out.
