So I am hearing rumors that while Polaris is going to be getting into the ring with the other 450 class racers, that they are also looking to more directly compete with the DS 650 and KFX 700. A big bore Pred, hopefully with a lighter weight, next generation PRO steering and possibly a new look rear suspension system.
I realize that the Predator fans love their 500, but how does a 65o+ strike ya?
From what I gathered, they had a lot of interest in the DS's racing at the Baja 1000 last year.

Well from my experiences my pred has no toruble beating up on the ds650 and the kfx 700, so why make a bigger engine? And how does making a big bore get them into the ring with the 450's?

 

Perhaps my statement was a little confusing, they are working on a lightweight 450 class quad as well as a more open class model. The 500 is a fine machine, no doubt, but it's a tweener and while they have had some success, I believe Polaris' interest in the big DS has them on track to build a better open class quad.
Remember that this isn't a bash the 500 thread, just information being passed on.

where did you hear they are working on a 450??

 

My sources are a closely guarded secret, though the Polaris guys made no secret of their presence at the 1000.

haven't heard anything about a 450 from them.i do know that matt smiley got polaris 3rd place poll at a gnnc race ,a first for polaris.so maybe they will bulid a 450 quad and get into racing

 

Ive heard some talk about a new 450, but it wasnt from any reliable sources that would know. Could be rumors or it could be true.
