Default Scrambler 500 clutching questions(Finaly got a tach)

Hey, How does the HPD brown with S55 weights work? The bike has a full DG exhaust and Dyno Jet. I have never messed with clutching. A guy sold it all to me for $20.00 and said that it would wake up the Scrambler 500. What is all of your opinions? He no longer needs them, sold his Scrambler.

The HPD brown and s55 weights is what I run. I uses to run the HPD violet with HPD's helix in the secondary but switched to a TEAM roller clutch. This is the setup I like the best

SO did it wake up the 500? Can you tell a difference? Also send pics of yours if you have any. Would like to get a custom seat cover. Trying to get Ideas from others as to what I can do.

Yeah it woke it up. It enagages about 2500 RPM. Made wheelies much easier. The TEAM clutch made the biggest difference. What kind of pictures do you want? I have some in my gallery

I have the TAS 98 model (non EBS) with the 58-42-40 helix. It has a Black with red spring in it. I had them set it up for trails. It felt like it gave me tons more low end and midrange hit, just where I needed it for the trails I ride.

I dont have a tach, but my best guess would be around 2200-2500 for engagement and tops out somewhere around 6300. I dont have a problem in the tight stuff with the higher engagement like some seem to. Actually I prefer it for my riding style and trails. Works great.

Hey jim, what wires did you hook the tach to? I tried installing mine awhile ago but couldn't figure out what to hook the signal wire to.
If you look at my pics, I show exactly which ones. The yellow(signal) and the brown(ground) both have there own pics. Make sure your tach is a 6 pulse tach.

Hey BBS, So you think the secondary is worth it? Mine will pull wheelies at the drop of a hat, Did you try out the secondary before or after the airbox mod? The airbox mod made alot of improvement for me. I was wondering if you rode it alot with the airbox mod and then added the secondary, or did you add them at same time? Anouther thing I noticed was there didn't seem to be a big improvement when I first put my HPD clutch kit on compared to just the white primary and violet secondary, but when I put my new dayco belt in, its like the kit woke up. I now get blisters on my hands every time I ride.

I wish I could try it with a the team secondary before I bought it

I rode all last year with the airbox mod installed. This was my first time out with the TEAM. I can tell you that from my seat of the pants feel is that there was a nice improvment over the aggressive clutch kit that was in there. I could actually feel a difference in the low and mid range hit. Top end wanst much different. And the Dayco belt made a noticeable difference to me as well.
