I was wondering what's the biggest tire that can be mounted on the stock rims for an 05 800 EFI... My concern is mostly how wide a tire for the front rims... The rear rims are wider and I believe they can handle let's say a 28-12-12, but can the front Rim handle a 28-10-12??..... I would even consider 27's if the 28's are too wide...... Anyone ??.....Thanks in advance

I have 29.5 inch Outlaws mounted on mine and had 28 inch Outlaws on there too. The 29.5x10s requried a one inch spacer up front. The 29.5x12s requried a one inch spacer in rear. The 28.5x10.5s requried a one inch spacer up front. The 28.5x12.5s requried a one inch spacer in rear. I would assume anything wider than 9 inches up front will require a spacer when on stock wheels. True 12s in rear and you will be close to the sway bar if not rubbing.

Thanks Tex Mud - If you look at my gallery, right now I have 26-10-12's and 26- 12-12's mounted on Vision rims on my 800... There is no rubbing at all anywhere.... I know the stock front rims are not as wide as the rear - I think the rear's are 8" wide and the fronts are 6"..Can I fit a 10" wide tire on those stock front rims ??

Nice pics of the quad Tex-Mud..... So you say when you had the Outlaw 28.5-10.5's and 28.5-12.5's on the front and rear you needed spacers?....Do you know off hand how much all 4 spacers cost ?...... Did you have any problems with the 28's on there as far as a bad seal on the aluminum rims or the actual tires coming off the rim ?....... I have about 4 miles on my stock rims and tires and I am going to try to make a deal with my local tire guy to trade in the stock tires and a little cash for a set of 28's....What do ya think ?? ... How's the 800 turn those big 28's and 29's - Does it bog it down quite a bit ?

Yes when i had the 28s mounted on stock wheels I did need spacers for clearance. Spacers are around $150 or so from High Lifter. I know they are listed in their online catalog. No problems with wheel sealing as thats an installation issue, not a rim issue. The 800 isnt affected by the 29.5s in any way. They turn like stock tires.
