Scrambler 500 vs predator
#11
I would say the Scrambler would be the best for snow, since it's 4x4.......we ride in the snow with our Preds, my Kenda Claws pull good in the snow and mud. We just got back from Hatfield & McCoys and friday was nothing but mud, and we had no problems.

they really are totally different machines like most previous posts state. The scrambler is a great all around sport bike. the 4wd is great if you get into trouble. if your doing general riding on trails and so forth the scrambler is the way to go. if you want to run MX tracks and just go as fast as can then the predator is the way to go. If your buddies think the scrambler is a chick bike then one ride on one will change their minds. My wife won't even sit on my scrambler let alone ride it and she has been riding wheelers since she was 8. she's 30 now.

I plan to do most of my riding in the desert of Phoenix; with occasional trips to Glamis. How would the scrambler perform with paddles in the back?
I hear the automatics are heavier, what role does that play in the dunes?

ive never rode a predator but my cousin has a scrambler 500 and when i raced her with my blaster i actually was pretty close but the reason she did beat me was cuz of the start. so id have to say the predator. cuz of that and also cuz a guy raced one against a truck and i think it kep up but then the front came up and he went into a side barrior.

if they think they have manly bikes because they have to push a lever five times every time they take off then they are retarded. My previous quad was a 5spd and I am THRILLED about not having to shift anymore with my Scrambler.
Your buddies fast Preds, Banchees, what ever....are fast but thats all they are. They are worthless bikes unless you want to go fast in sand or open trails. A scrambler is an actually usefull ATV with a fair amount of utilitarian use designed into it.
Just remember this.....I've heard some of the same stuff from die hard sand dune running banchee owners.... the difference is I can run right with them out in the sand and after the weekend is over they leave their useless banchees in the trailer all week while I come home and irrigate my 325 acres of rice farmland on my Scrambler.

I baught a 05 scrambler about a month ago and then traded it a 2 weeks ago after riding a predator. If you are looking for an all around bike that has tons of speed the the scrambler is the way to go. I know for a fact that a stock scrambler will pull somewhere around 70. However if you are looking for something to take to the dunes and hang with the banchee's and the yfz's then you have to look at the predator. The first time in the dunes with my predator i didnt have paddles and i was going higher and faster then my friends 400ex. Just something to think about
