Default Getting shocked

This may be a weird question but.......I had an 04 SP 500HO. Right before I sold it I started getting shocked through the throttle. It was happening quite a bit until I wrapped electrical tape around the throttle and that pretty much stopped it.

About a month ago I bought an 05 Pred TLD. I went out last week and the same thing started happening. Getting shocked through the throttle.

Does anyone know what this could be from and has anyone had this problem?

Thanks

Sounds like your throttle cable is touching your spark plug cable or some other high voltage part, despite being insulated the spark plug cable will still leak a little voltage.

Check the routing of the throttle cable carefully (with the engine not running!!)

Let us know how you get on and what you find...

Did either of these machines have after market thumb throttles. Aren't the thumbs throttles plastic? Mine is on my Scrambler. Plastic should not be able to transmit electricity.

Mine is plastic coated metal. If the plastic is thin, it will let a little electicity through.
