Default clutch puller

Where can I find a clutch puller for my 1999 scrambler. I removed the rear clutch with my hands but the front one will not come off. I tried to use a large pully puller but did not work. Where can I find a clutch puller?

Some times you can find one on ebay but you can make your own out of a 3/4" fine threaded bolt. Take a long 3/4" fine threaded bolt and a 3/8 extenison about 3" long and a small socket. Take the socket and extension and slide it in the hole then put your fine threaded bolt in and tighten it till it pops the clutch off.

Thanks SPORTSMAN70003,
I will get the bolt tomorrow and try it. Just don't have 3/4 fine thread bolts laying around the garage.

Hot Seat sells quite a few nifty jigs/pullers.

What is the trick to keep the clutch from spinning when you are trying to pull it. I have no chain on the bike cause it broke. That is why I need to remove the clutches. I have to get the tranny out and torn apart to replace my case that I cracked when my chain busted. I don't want to hurt the sheaves shen I am trying to pull it. I used a pipe to stick down between the primary and then tried to pull it but the rear sheave stayed on and the clutch itself came loose. Need a little help, or a trick to get this dang thing off.

How much force does it take to pop the clutch off. I have been trying to get my clutch off for a couple hours. I don't want to bust anything but I have the bolt as tight as I can get it and the thing won't pop off. Is it normally that hard to pop off. I have never taken it completely off but it doesn't want to budge.

Give the puller a couple of taps on the end.The best way is to use am impact wrench.

If the back stayed on,this could be a mess. You dont want all the buttons to come out of the primary. The primary will have to be torqued back up when you finally get it off.You may have to take the pull rope housing off so you can hold backup at the flywheel.

Hey CED,
The buttons are on the clutch that mounts to the tranny I do believe. I am having problems getting the clutch that mounts to the crank shaft.

There is only one safe way of pulling primary clutch off is with clutch puller . you never want to hit the end of them hard you can tap the end but if you were to hit hard you may reck your crank shaft. you dont have to use a impack but it is a hell of alot easier and if you dont have impack you will definetly need a to put a pipe over you ratchet when taking off.
