Loose head pipe on 700?
#11
First of all thanks for all the help guys!
Update:
The manifold to pipe donut (exhaust seal) was pretty much disintegrated! All that was left was a mesh wire skeleton for the most part.
This caused the springs to not have very much tension, due to the reduced donut spacer size and must have vibrated loose.
$17 for the donut at the dealer and not in stock so I tried the Permatex Copper Hi-Temp (700 deg) sealant around what was left of the donut. Will report back how it holds up.
I also adjusted the rubber frame bumper up a little.
Thanks,
Jim

are you gonna have the quad done for this weekend Jim? I mentioned that I was gonna put my MTX 2300 car amplifier on ebay, I put it on there the other evening and sold it with the buy it now feature the same night, can't beat that huh. I have also got my Harley sold and the guy is going to be picking it up on friday just before I leave to head up north, gonna miss her but it's time to move on to other stuff right? I am going to re-order the 800 pipe, air box snorkle and K&N air filter soon.

Yeah its fixed for now Dave, as long as the sealant holds up.
I didn't get the donut as stated above.
I will get the 800 pipe and install w/i the next couple weeks, sooner if the sealant don't hold up as expected.
That will eliminate the donut need/problem.
I should be alright for the weekend ride...hopefully.
Jim
ps. The Scrammy is still down with the top end rebuild and porting work being done.
