Nice man!
Those 800 wheels really set it off.
The black will challenge you to keep it clean and scratch free. I know mines part black and it looks great...while new.
Personally I would steer away from black in the future. JMO

Hey Jim,
Thanks bud........ I'm certainly not worried about the mud and grime however, I am a little concerned about what the scratches will look like on the high gloss black. The dealer said to put 4 or 5 coats of wax on it before taking it out for the first time.
I'm a paramedic on 12 hour shifts. Some days I run my @$$ off, but other shifts are real quiet so I have TONS of time to clean the wheeler at the station. I've seen myself spend up to 7 hours to properly wash my quad.

Hey sportsman 70003,
Thanks dude...... As I previously stated, I've been following the forum for quite some time bofore joining. Aside from a select few polaris bashers, this place is filled with a bunch of real cool riders !!

Sweet looking ride!!!
The accessories look super too. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but my buddy just bought a 2005 500HO also (not LE), and his wife wanted the black. The dealer said to stay away from the black since it is actually painted black. I'm wondering if thats why your dealer said to wax it 4 or 5 times before you head out. Anyone else heard anything like this, or is my buddies dealer blowing smoke??
Hope you enjoy your machine - it's a mean looking unit.
Cheers

I was just at the dealer and got to sit on and check out the sportsman 500 and it was awesome. Definetly cool to have. Very comfortable. It looks like it will go through anything with that suspension. Nice quad and enjoy and welcome. The people on here are absolutely great for all help and just to bs.

the black painted fenders will scratch just like your electric-green ArticCat Barnzilla. the black looks great when it's new BUT it'll scratch on the first ride. i think the dealer suggested the wax job to try and help it last just a few hours more! LOL!
yes it is a painted fender. just like the 50TH Anniversary Sportsman500 in 2004. it's a collector's dream and it's painted in a BEAUTIFUL shade of dark blue. i hope i'm alive to see Polaris's 100th!

Hey mtpockets,
Well so far so good. I've done some "serious" muddin' and bush riding this week, washed it today and NOT A SCRATCH !!! ......... Still looks like it did in the showroom.
It's only a matter of time before it gets scuffed up just like any other quad, but it is holding up much better then I expected. I think that I'll keep waxing it after every wash. Gotta keep'er lookin' this good for as long as I can...lol
