It's all Done !
I was going to post this weekend with the latest pics but my digital camera fried !
It took me a couple of weeks to get the carb sorted out but overall I'm quite impressed
After messing with needles , main jets, and the biggest problem that illuded me overall was the the hole in the " needle seat " [ the needle and seat asembly operated by the float ] it was " too small " and could'nt pass enough fuel to keep up with the fuel giong through the main jet !
The symptom was , when you nailed it , the bike would pull really well till 40 or 50 mph then just die !
After veryifiing fuel pressure holding a gauge in my hand while I was driving it , I realized it was emptying the float bowl on the carb !
thats when I pulled the needle seat out and checked it to find it only had approx a .050" hole in it !........a smaller hole than the main jet !!!!!!
We very precisionly drilled it to .076"
Starts , idles well , quiet running , great throttle response , pulls easily over 70 mph and still pulling till it hits the rev limiter while I'm sitting up , not laying on the tank like I used to have to do to get it to 65
even while cruising at 60 theres lots of power left in reserve when you punch it
It does'nt leave the line much harder that it did but really pulls in the mid range and top end !
I just recieved the custom intercooler wed and wow ! , did they do nice job on it , superb welding , can't wait to show it to ya !

Thanks for the offer extreme, but soon as I catch wind on what's the 06 scamblers are offering , I'm putting my 04 700 back to stock and trading it in !!!!
Speaking of Front ends earlier, you may like what I've done to front of my 700 but I'll keep that as a secret for now
I'll show a few shots of that soon as well

Actually...paramedic, your's looks actually pretty bad @ss...looks like what our Police had back in Wisconsin/Michigan...
And Bionic, haha, the Sportsman obviously is a very good quad, the only reason I personally like the Bomb better is because I've been a fan for quite some time now.

uk its cool and all to have all the power, but a sportsman 500 H.O. will get the job done, a 500 H.O. is considered really small now when in reality they do just as good of a job, there for the same purpose.

Holy Sh**.
That's some power. As you can see by my signature I'm not brand loyal and I've had a decent variety of quads.
GE4X4,
I think once you drive that Outlander you will probably want to use it for racing. The Outlander is a very sporty, nimble, and easy to throw around quad, especially compared to the sportsman. The Outlander handles like a quad that is much lighter than 600#.
I prefer the overall ride of my sportsman. If I were racing like GE4x4 I would take an equally powered Outlander over the sportsman in a second. Try them both back to back on a short stretch of race course and you'll be amazed.
Can't wait to see a shootout.
