03 TLD stock carb.
I am drilling out the brass covering over my air screw. I see two brass coverings, so which is covering the air screw?
Looks like the one that is protruding about 3/4 inches down from the carb body (when installed) would be covering the air screw. ???
Can anyone confirm? RAJ, do you know?

So I drill out the brass plug in the protruding post that sits between the two threaded posts?
What do you mean when you say: "Do not drill the brass plug on below it. " ??
The air screw is actually called the "Pilot Mixture Screw" in the manual, factory set at 2.5 turns?? Is this right?? I should find a screw, a spring, a washer, and an o-ring??
Do you know how thick the brass plug is? I don't want to overdrill.
Thanks for your help!

drill the brass plug on the post. drill very slow so you do not damage the screw below, all you will find underneth is a screw.
Factory settings is 2.5 turns out. So if you tighten the screw all the way down. Then unscrew 2.5 turns your at factory.

OK, thanks.
The manual says the brass plug is called a "welsh plug". I've never heard that term before...have you?
What size bit would you use? About half the diameter of the plug?

Yes somthing alittle smaller then the plug, my plug had a little hole in it already from factory.

OK, thanks a lot guys....I will be drilling that sucker tonight!
I went up to a 165 main jet with my new header pipe and I will give that a try. I am running a 50 Pilot Jet instead of the stock 45.
There is also a 42.5 jet that I have not touched...I think it may be the Starter Jet but I'm not sure...the manual is just not very specific on some of these details.
