On a stock SC 400 what is the jetting set for. I check my plug after running and the thing seems to be running rich alot of carbon build up in the end of the pipe and the plug is wet with oil and gas. I am going to remove airbox lid and conduct the same test to see if it still runs rich. But ? is has anyone experinced this with thier SC 400

 

230 came stock in mine i run a 220 in hot weather and will go up to a 250 or 260 in the cold.

 

ceet, How do u like u're sc400, did u used to own a 400ex?(just wondering because of name)I am thinking of getting a sc400 or 500 my self, if i do i want 4x4. just wanted to asked how u like it.what kind of riding do u do?if u don't mind.

 

Isnt a sc 400 or 500 just as fast or faster than a 400ex? They both top out at 65 mph. One atv action said that the 400 sc topped out at 65-68. 2x4 of course

 

Well I own both the SC 400 and the 400EX As well as an 87 LT250 and 01 300EX. In a drag race the LT wins in quater mile the 400EX second SC400,Then 300EX. My SC is 4x4 and was a little enimic until The rebuild And I installed an infamous Green Spring yesterday. WOW is all I can say. If I could get the tires to stop spinning it would holeshot all of them. I think. The Sc is the all around best climber (in big rocks) and mudder. The 400EX is the best on the trails and MX the 300EX is the best at doing wheelies and the LT will smoke them all on a fire road. This is all with me riding all of them since they are mine. The Sc is a great machine mine has just had a few hiccups but all seems well now. mabie I ride to hard. NAA!!!
