information needed

Polaris, the fantastic company that they are, has agreed to become a sponsor for a project that I am working on for school. We design, build, and race a single seat offroad racecar (similar to pilot, etc) that is powered by a 10 hp briggs and stratton engine. Polaris has agreed to give us basically any parts that we want, minus the frame and engine. The main parts that I am looking for are transmission and driveshafts. I went to the dealer closest to here (2 hours) and did some research this weekend, but they were not all that helpful. I found that there are 2 different transmissions, one it seems is for the independent rear suspension quads and the other is for the live axle models. I was wondering what the internal differences between them is, such as gear ratios, etc. I would also like a rough idea as to how much each of them weighs. If appears that the IRS transmission is much larger and would weigh quite a bit more, but would probably be a little better suited to our needs. The transmissions that I am looking at are the high-low-neutral-reverse models. Any help that you guys could give me would be great. Also, what do you guys think of the front brakes Polaris uses? We have used Suzuki's in the past because they were small and worked well, but I am always looking for new stuff. Thanks guys.
