What are you guys thinking!!

Couldn't help but notice all the natter about a few guys wanting to bail out on their almost new sp500's to jump on the new HO. Granted Polaris has added some new features in order to keep interest up and sell new machines but from the price difference I've seen, is it really worth it?
I bought my '99 sp500 because it was the best available and I still beleive it is better than any other manufacturers' new quad. If my quad was worn out or damaged beyond cost effective repair I would definitely go for the new HO, but because I'll still be riding this one for a few years yet I guess I'll have to wait to upgrade. By that time a few of you will be "slamming" the year old model you just bought because Polaris came out with something new. If you can afford it by all means get the newest (you already have the best) but myself and lots of others will keep our trusty "old" rides maintained and looked after for a few more years yet.
Maybe I'm just jealous because I can't have a new quad like my neighbours the Jones'.
Ride safe and often.

gtbud,
alot of us,myself included, have a burning desire to have what we feel is the best, even if our quad is only 6 months old.Right now, that is the HO Sportsman.I loved the 99 Sportsman that I bought, however,I wanted something snappier, faster, and lighter. The Xplorer fit all them catagories.I now own it.
The newer Kawasaki twin 650 4x4 sounds like a great quad too.Who knows?Maybe I might ---?

SHHHHH!!! Don't talk them out of it. There are alot of people who can't afford a new SP HO(like me, for one) but if there were a glut of very nice late model standard Sportsmans maybe the price would come down to where the wife could be convinced to allow a new toy. After all there is nothing wrong with second best...especially if it is cheap enough!

I might upgrade in a couple years, I really like my SP it has been bulletproof in the 1700 miles i have put on it, it runs great and the suspension just seems to get plusher the older it gets. The Saki twin 650 sounds nice, but I am a died hard Polaris man, and i have no doubts that the big P will have something to combat that 650 and you know no one has tested the 650 to actually see what it will really do, look at the Grizz, it has a 600 but it is no match for the SP in allot of areas. and from what I am hearing the HO has beaten the Grizz in the only thing it could not and that is drag racing. but if no one buys the HO then Polaris will not come out with as much new stuff, they need people to buy the latest and greatest. I wonder with them putting the 425 in an SP frame if the 425 will ever be put in a scrambler frame? Seeing as how everyone keeps talking about the fact the 2 stroke is on its way out? Maybe they will put the 5 speed tranny in it?
