Everybody seems to want to bash other brands of ATV's that are different from theirs,I myself have done it.Well I can remember the first time that i rode an ATV,I did not even know or care what kind it was until after my ride. All that I knew was that I was having a blast riding with friends and at the time it was the best mount for me because i was having so much fun!!!I now have two Honda's because I have a good local Honda dealer, otherwise I might be riding another brand and doing what I like best.By the way,my first ride was a Polaris.Who really cares what we ride as long as we are having a good time!!

I agree.

Its funny to see people bash on these forums, but I never see it in real life. We do give each other a hard time when riding but its nothing like some of the responses on these forums.

Here's my .02 worth...........

You rarely see people bashing brands in person (except jokingly, or at least with a intelligent reason) because it is easy to be brave from the anonymous security of our computers. When you are in public, it is easy to pick out the people who are complete idiots, and the vast majority of those idiots are quickly and completely ignored by everyone else with an IQ higher than their own age. That is why when these mental giants get home and log on to their computers to spew out their moronic diatribes, and people actually take the bait and reply, they actually feel important for once in their lives. They are probably very lonely people when they aren't typing and reading responses to their posts..........
Or...........
Maybe they'd just get the *&*(* kicked out of them if they were brave enough to do it in person!

It is my guess that these people are either 13, and acting exactly as I did (embarassingly) at that age, or they are "adults" with the mental-capacity of a 13 year old.
Either way, these aren't people who I choose to talk with in public, so I choose not to talk with them on the computer.
Hey, we live in a free country. Some people like Polaris, some Kawasaki, some Yugo's (theoretically), Chevy's, Gore and Bush. If we all liked the same thing, it would be a boring place to live.
I guess if you barely have enough brain power to put together a coherent sentence, it is also difficult for you to comprehend the fact that maybe someone else actually has a opinion different from your own.

Whatever you ride, enjoy it.

I only know of one guy who brand bashes in person. Like Arcosanti said, no one really listens to him, unless it is to have stories to tell playing cards after he leaves. I have no problem with someone saying they really like what they have or lauding some feature they like, but he says stuff like 'I climbed that hill over there pulling a small trailer this morning. Your machine could never make it because the belt would break like they always do whenever you try to pull something.' People like that aren't even worth arguing with. If he was a 13 year old, I could say maybe he will grow out of it, but he is over 30. I suppose he wonders why no one calls him to go riding.

It never bothers me to hear anyone brag about there atv, which is different then bashing someone elses. they are really only saying that they like atv's and riding and are happy with the atv they bought. We can all brag about our atv. Bashing others on the other hand, I feel the same way as arcosanti does. We all do however, point out differences in atv's and the options and things like that. There are many choices. this is not bashing, however. I don't think its wrong to say that polaris for example does have the best true awd system. thats a fact. other brands have there best trade marks. Then each person that wants to buy an atv can decide which one they want based on its different qualities. rangerchet

Hey rangerchet,
I agree with what you said. I have at times bragged about how good I thought my quad was. And I'm still real impressed with it. After having done that, I have almost always been on the recieving end of some brand bashing. By saying that I really like my quad, and focusing on its strong points compared to other quads, doesn't mean that I'm bashing the other quads. I'm also aware of the weaknesses of my quad compared to other quads. But I don't like to talk about that very often.

Same thing with street bikes. I don't understand why riders of different brands don't wave to each other. I just moved to the mountains of N.C. and don't know many riders. I'll ride with anyone on anything, in the dirt or on the street. I went riding with five other bikes last week, I was the only one on a Harley {ROADKING]. Only one tried to poke fun at my choice of bike and said he didn't try to pass me so it wouldn't shake me up, so after a pause for the cause he went in front of me, and said he would wait for me at the bottom of the hill, laughing. WE were riding very agressive, they were all on sport bikes. Every curve I stuck that big Harley front fender up his tail. About one mile and ten curves down the road he crashed but was not hurt. He was behind me the rest of the day. He didn't know my bike was built or that I ride sport bikes too. It's not what you have but what you can do with it. SHOW SOME CLASS,NOT YOUR @ss. All of you are right, there is a differance between pride and bashing. You should come for a ride with us. It is non stop busting each others a$$. It is all in fun though. Its not my quad is better than yours. It's having good days and bad days. We all get stuck, or make complete fools of ourselves at some point, but if we didn't we wouldn't have anything to talk about. Its friends being friends and having a good time doing it. Did any of this make sense?
