Brand bashing
#11
I have another perspective. I think the reason we don't bash in person is out of respect for the other riders. I would never go up to someone and tell them that their atv was junk. I might think it, but I wouldn't say it.
The fact is, this anonymous way of communicating allows people to say more than they otherwise would. They certainly would not say such things in person - for fear of retaliation. Their bashing should be taken with a grain of salt or ignored. We need to either handle the childish and ignorant babble we are exposed to here, or go hide in a closet and be nice and safe from the worlds perils. I have fallen into the fools response trap many a time. I have thought, "I want to send a post that reads, 'You are an idiot' ". Then I had to ask the question - Who is more the fool? The fool, or the person responding to the fool.

Its like the old Ford Vs. Chevy debate. I work with a guy that when we talk 80% of our conversation is that whose truck is better. We both know that they get the job done. if one breaks down we make fun of each other about it but we dont take it serious, now we each bought an atv a week apart his is 96 explorer 400 4x4 mine a 2001 Rancher ES 4x4 so now we joke about whose four wheeler is better all in good fun

"A+" on both content and delivery, Acrosanti!
The anonymity of the Internet cloaks the cowardly scoundrels who post graffiti.
Bashing indicates low maturity/mental age/intelligence/integrity, telling lots more about the basher than his target.

Everyone knows that I ride Polaris and I am somewhat proud of its abilities. For that reason I am the recipient of bashing on every ride. I don't get offended. I just laugh. Some of the bashers are being spiteful and some are just yanking my chain. I really don't care. I laugh anyway. I don't concern myself with the age or IQ of the basher. As long as I do not let it bother me, it really doesn't matter. I enjoy riding and competing. I enjoy riding with others that enjoy it as muc as I do. The bashing I have to listen to just makes it more rewarding when I get to pull them out.
