Default predator carb trouble

trying to get the 4 screws loose that hold the float bowl. allready started to strip 2 of them , anyone have any tips or tricks to getting these things loose the first time around.? i think i will replace them with something easier to remove once i get them out. why do they have to tighten these little screws so damn tight from the factory , i dont know how anyone can get these loose without stripping one or two.

You might try hitting the end of the screwdriver with a hammer some times the jar helps break it loose.

Default predator carb trouble

Had to do the same thing with both my predator carbs. I ended up using small stubby plyers with knurlling on the tips that could grip the sides of the screws. The second carb was a real pain. It took me several tries over a few days to get them out. I'd loose paitence and have to set it down and walk away... Continuing would have resulted in a claim on the bike's insurance and possibly my home owner's insurance....

I replaced all my screws with allen-head screws when I got them out. Now it's not a problem to re-jet.

I have found it is best to get exactly the right size screwdriver that fully fills the grooves. Then take a he$$ of a tight grip on the carb and press in with all you got as you turn. I have also had some luck with vice grips. When all else has failed, I have used an impact driver, but the OEM does not recommend that.
Then I immediately replace all four screws with allen head.
