ok, so, i started my 800 up today and i was going to take it out for a ride. it started makeing this weird tumbleing noise like metal against metal when i was driving it, i slapped the gas tank and it stopped. then me and my buddy went out into the feilds and it was doing it REALLY bad. i put it in nutral and reved the motor and i couldent hear anything obscure. i put it in reverse and brought it up to about 30mph and i couldent hear anything different. so i dont think its the motor and i dont think its the belt shreading. theres no check engine lights and all the fluids are good. im just stumped. if i cant figure it out im takeing it to the dealer saterday. it makes me mad, im sure its not gonna fall apart or anything, but i prefer not to ride it :/

There have been some tranny issues on the 800 call polaris with your Vin and check for recall.I saw one with 7 miles and the tranny was gone BOOM parts everywhere and the shaft out of the side of the aluminum casing.TAKE TO DEALER ASAP.

you guys arnt gonna belive it. so i take my quad to the shop this afternoon and it turns out that a bolt came off of my heat sheild right under my seat and it was rattleing away. i feel so stupid. i totaly over looked it when i first thought it was the engine like a baffle came out or something, and i put it in nutral to see what it was and it didnt make the sound again. but hey, atleast they fixed it for free and i got to take it home.
