2001 Trailblazer 250 HELP... please!!
Polaris Gods, please help:
Friend of mine has a Trailblazer 250, last summer I replaced the buttons in the clutch for him, and it ran fine.. well we just got back from Iraq, and he said it is acting up again.... He says it will not go fast, like it just revs out and only goes like 5 MPH.... like something is keeping it from moving fast.... maybe the tranny??? any ideas on what I might be able to do would be greatly appriciated.... Also, he said he was having a hard time starting it, he has to pull start it because his bat. is dead, he said the pull cord is stuck out now, from trying to start it..... is that a hard fix?? thanks for any information you all can give me!!!

You can go to partsland.com for a parts breakdown. The weights are in the primary. They look like moon shape. The secondary is the bell shaped housing. The spring needs to be in the 2-2 position and then the clutch needs to be wound counter clockwise 1/3rd of a turn. It would help to have 2 sets of hands to do this because you have to wind it back and push down so the helix fits in the ramp of the clutch then you need to put a washer and the c ring back on while holding everything together. It can be difficult the first time but after a few times I can do it myself within a matter of minutes. You can take the belt off and then rev the motor to see if the primary is shifting or not. If it is then it is in the secondary and reading your post and not knowing how to wind the clutch would make me believe it is in the secondary since you replaced the buttons already.
