2001 Trailblazer 250 HELP... please!!

Ridinsmooth forced me into this. Once you have the clutch exposed, it's easiest to have the belt off, but you still have to unwind the secondary to loosen the belt on the primary either way. Once the belt is out of the way, push on the outer cover of the primary, it should smoothly move in towards the motor and the only interferance should be the primary spring. If you hold the cover in, the weights should be loose. See if they also move easily, they should not be binding at all or have any resisitance and actually "flop" back and forth. If you need to pull the weights out, carefully remove the cover evenly and be careful of the primary spring. You will need an allen wrench and I believe 10mm or 3/8 wrench for the bolt holding the weight. Slide out the bolt and clean it up real good and lubricate with a "dry" lube. How'd I do?

Well you are right except you dont unwind the secondary. You can keep the bike in gear then take the top of the belt on the secondary and pull outward while you roll the quad backward. This will roll the belt off of the clutch.

Darn it, I flunked my first class. I should have had my coffee first. Maybe it was putting the belt back on that you unwind the secondary to make it easier.

You can put it on the same way. Put the belt on the primary then take the belt to the top of the secondary and roll the quad back this will roll the belt back on. Nice try though! LOL!!! Soon enough you will be a pro at this.
