Default Help with 500ho rear axle

I ripped a inside rear boot on the 500ho and want to change it myself. I have the manual for it. I have the three bolts removed from the a-arms to the bearing carrier. The manual says to remove the bearing carrier but it won't budge. It looks like it should just come straight out. Is there a trick to it.

If you have the 3 bolts that hold the a-arms to the bearing carrier out and the axle nut off it should slip right off.

Thats what I thought too but something seems to be holding it up from coming off. It will move just slightly and seems to be held up by something. I have hit it with a bubber mallet but didn't know how hard I could hit without hurting the carrier.

Take a small flat screw driver and pry out the rubber bushing and there will be a metal piece in there holding the bottom in place. Look here at #33 that is the rubber bushing you need to take out to get to #35 the bushing carrier that probably whats holding you.

Yea the bushings needed to come out. I was trying to get the drive shaft back into the inner cv joint and am having trouble holding the spring clip apart to get the shaft started back into the cv joint. I spent about a hour on it until 10:30 and quit for the night.
