Does anyone have a link to the thread where someone did this swap? I looked and can't find it. If you have done it here are the problems I'm trying to get around. the Xplorer tranny has two electrical plugs for low and hi where the scrambler only has one?? Secondly the shifters and linkage need to be moded to and I really have no idea what that would look like or what really needs to be done to make it work...I'd like to see one that was completed if possible. Thanks much if you can provide any help!

hey i did this on a sram 400 works great as far as wiring ididnot know what to do so the one plug i hooked up the othe or rear one i took of and sealed shut had no problems i did wire my 4x4 switsh to have a constant power when switched on just in case and as far as the second shift rod with a little work your stock will work good for first one and second use the aluminum piece and weld a new lever wich you have to reach down and move back or forward for low must be in nutral to shift to low or if it does not have this aluminum piece for the linkage go and buy a 12 mm box end wrench it fits perfect on the stud and the bend will work to clear exhaust of a 400 not sure for that matter on a 500 about exhaust. i got mine off ebay for $175 and sold my old trans for $230 so for me it was a perfect swap gives it great low end in the mud if that is what you are looking for hope was a help

I did what scramin did with the electrical, just plug in the one plug, then seal the other with silicon. I think my neutral light is on when it's in low but that's the only thing that i see as a problem. As far as shifter i bought a new explorer shifter and made a mounting bracket and mounted it where the stock scrambler one is, I bought one new linkage rod and extened the original scambler one to work. If your ever in the rogers area you can certainly look at mine.
