Ok, I feel dumb for asking this, but I have to. I am used to changing oil on our 02 sportsman 500HO. I told a guy I know that I would change the oil on his 04 700 for him. I got the oil and filter and was going to change the oil, and then I got to lookin, where do you fill the oil? The only thing I could see is the 1/2" tube that the dipstick is in. Youd don't fill it there do you? That would be dumb. Im sure there is something Im missing. I don't have the manual.

 

yep thats it. The dipstick hole is where you fill it.

 

LoL thats the only place ive ever known to fill it, where did you fill the oil before?

 

Well, on my SPortsmn 500HO, you just pour it in the resevoir where the dipstick is, but thats a big hole. I never had to change the oil on one of these newer twins before. I didn't think you would actually have to pour all the oil down that little tube! That sucks!

 

Go to Wal-mart and get one of those little funnels for $.88 they work great and fit right in the dip stick tube.
