Where does this go?

I was pulling grass and weeds out from under the middle of the frame and accidently pulled out a vent line from somewhere. It's about 15" long, small tubing with a one way check valve on one end. Is the carb supposed to have this on the very bottom? I checked and the carb has a short 1" tube on the bottom and a thicker tube with a check valve routed up around the air box snorkel on the top. Any answers would be appreiciated. thanks

Our Polaris 400L has one similar to that. It's attached to the bottom of the carb. Now, the quad was bought used 3 years ago. So, I don't know if it actually belongs therebut, we've never had a problem with it. I have wondered why it has a valve there though

The ends of the tubes on the carb and the section that is off don't appear that they "belong" together, like they were tore apart, plus they don't match?

Sorry, that didn't help then Hopefully someone with the same model is able to help you out. I do know our Polaris has vent tubes all over the place.

Sounds like someone already "snorkled" the carb vent line and left the stock line in the frame. I believe the carb has the only vent line with a one-way valve. I have the same quad and will check it out. Are you the original owner?

Yes, I'm the original owner. I had problems with debris getting sucked into the main jet in the carb (pine needles etc.) and after two times having to have the carb cleaned out, the dealer installed the valve on the top of the carb, no problems since. But is there suppposed to be a valve on the botttom of the carb? All there is a 1" long tube hanging from it. thanks for the replies.

Dearlh, I checked my 600. On the bottom of your carb you should have a 1 inch vent line connected to a check valve connected to 15 inches of tubing to the bottom of the frame.
Sounds like you got it. Folks that mud a lot will snorkle this line or pinch it off during mud or deep water runs.

Ya, I looked closer at it and figured the end of the valve must slip inside of the piece hanging down on the carb. Looks like you have to remove the airbox to get at it. With my big paws no way can I get it from the right side. I better get started now, Headed up north to ride on Thur. Thanks Andre and others
