Oops, flipped my Sportsman today
Well....we were doing alittle scouting for elk season. We did some serious climbing. The pics don't show the how steep this area is....I climbed a mountainside and kept lifting the front end, then I had to come back down. Coming down was a skid session.
Not only did I flip my 2005 700 EFI, but my friend flipped his Yamaha Wolverine, right in to a barbed wire fence....cut his leg and hand.
Below is a link the pics from today. The guy standing next to my flipped Sportsman is my friend Craig...he thought it was funny, so he wanted me to snap a pic of him with my machine....
Dave.
Just click on any of the pics to enlarge, click on 'all' near bottom of page to see all pics:

Actually, the machine was upside-down, I flipped it back on the side because of the fluids that were coming out....but couldn't get it all the way back on its tires. The hill was steep and I was trying to flip it uphill. I could have flipped it all the way back over, but then we would have had to winch it back uphill to get in to a position to drive.
Like I was saying, pics don't do justice, this area was steep. Most people wouldn't try what I did, but what the hell. Its not like this is the first machine I flipped.
As far as damage:
Bent in the winch control mount and scratched up
Broke my heated handgrips control mount off
bent in the center front part of my front rack
scraped up the rear gun/bow mount (saved the rear rack
scraped the rear rack
scraped the side of the fenders on the left side
scraped the front brushguard (i think that guard saved alot of damge on the front end)
scraped the end of the grips/handlebar
thats about it, these are pretty tough machines...

Tell me you were wearing helmets! I did not see any. I dont mean to preach but thats what gets us in trouble with the gov. You could have been another statistic. I really dont want to read about another fellow rider on this site that came out on the bad end. Thats good that you are ok. Keep the rubber side down and drive safe. Later!
