RCR Stage 1 installed!

Awesome! I could tell the difference right away. After a (very) brief warm up I ran the bike back and forth at about half to three quarter throttle for a couple minutes and checked the spark plug. Looked great with no wetness, so the 270 jet seems fine. I attempted to wheelie, but just dug two trenches in the soft dirt. the power definitely makes it to the ground. As luck would have it, a banshee arrived the same time I did. Sorry fella's, the stock banshee was still faster but not by much. We didn't drag race, but running side by side on the flats he could pull away. I'm using the midrange pipe and that's were the power increase was so noticable. So maybe with the hi range pipe the stock banshee would have been behind me. I'm very impressed by the performance of my 400 Scrambler now. I would encourage anyone wanting more from your Scrambler to give Rick a call at RCR. His service is just what everybody says. Great! When I posted that I had questions and would call him in the morning, he posted back to call him right then. It was after midnight where he is. How's that for service! Sorry for rambling on, but I'm very impressed with the product and service from Rick Ritter. Thanks Rick!
A Raptor pulled in after I was already loaded. Awesome looking bike. First one I've seen in person.

Sorry, I can't help you there. I'm not familiar with the HPD pipe. I think RCR sells HPD too though. He'll be able to explain the differences.

Lorrin,
Actually it's just the opposite. It GAINED low end. Due to engaging at a higher RPM it rips right from the start. I don't know how the low range pipe feels, but I don't think you'd be disappointed at all with the midrange pipe.

Not at all. With the HPD trail pipe, you get just that, a pipe. You then have to pick out a silencer, then a clutch kit, you are on your own to figure out that your bike will need to get more air to it du to the new pipe.
With the Stage 1 kit, you get a pipe (you get to pick from three, depending on the application you want), a silencer, a heavier primary clutch spring, a uni-filter, and a huge air-box intake, to get more air to the carb, he also throws in two new jets.
