Fuel guage 700?
#1
Hello all,
I have a new 700 sportsman and the digital fuel guage reads incorrectly. Only the bottom square is dark, and it keeps flashing that I need fuel even when it 3/4 full.
Has anyone had this problem, or does anyone know what the problem could be?
TIA.

the fuel gauge on my 500 does the same thing kinda. it reads full until the tank is about 1/3 full then the gauge goes down fast. so i sorta got the same probelm but i dont know how to fix it.

i dont think thats your problem... if u look into the gas tank you will see that the top portion is much larger then the lower portion... but the fuel gauge sensor is just a straight stick... so it reads correctly, its just the tank thats set up funny

My friends 800 does that also. He pulled the sending unit out thinking the float might have got stuck, but that's not the case. He also checked the wires coming from the rheostat, and they seemed OK. He's bringing it into the dealer to have it replaced.
