Default polaris plastic

I went riding with a new buddy today. He rides an 04 700 sportsman. He ran over a broken up log, a piece of the log came up an tore about an 8 inch square section of the left floorboard off, right where it curves up to the fender. He only has a 100 miles on the bike. I couldn't believe it, the thing was made out of hard, very rigid plastic. On most other quads there some give there. It doesn't look promising for the rest of the plastic. any body know of some good places to buy the palstic, and is there any aftermarket plastic that might be better? $129 for the left side floorboard, wow.

u cant really buy aftermarket fenders for a quad like that

you would need to check out a site like ebay or order that section of the fender from polaris.

Yup, i had mine a week and a limb cracked the right side floorboard. Pulled the fasteners through the rear fender. Over $100.00. It really wasn't a case of abuse in my apinion.
I wouldn't complain as hard if there was some steel or welding involved but come on, an extruded peice of plastic.
Im in manufacturing and even with tooling for the mold it's a fraction of that. There really isn't a reason to bone people for a poor design.

Get the military model.Just bad luck where it hit.I've hit mine several times and they are still intact.
There is pretty good support under those floorboards!!

I just replaced a floorboard on my 03 Sportsman. I found the best price at www.polarisoemparts.com Mine was about $105. It was at my house in about 4 or 5 days also. If you do a search on here you will find that this is a common problem and some people make steel plates and tubing to go underneath the floorboard to protect it better. Good Luck.

You might try these guys. Polaris Parts All brand new pulled off parts. It looks like $60 for the complete floorboard.
No personal experence, just and internet search.
Good luck

You think that's annoying, I shattered mine trying to get some ice off of the floorboard when it was -30*F outside. Hit the bottom of the right floorboard with my fist and the whole inside of it shattered and broke off.

Keep an eye on eBay for that, they show up there sometimes.
