predator v raptor 660

Well,
If you know anything about engines you know big bore long stroke makes for a slow reving engine but lots of torque.
The raptor is big bore long stroke, not good for reving, as for the predator it short stroke big bore, you can rev the **** out of the pred without any problems and get great torque, that extra 160cc is crap, its more like a inline six then a fast reving race engine.
just my 2 cents

yeh it is fast, but i need reverse, and the raptor to me looked to be the clear winner. the predator weighs more than a raptor and has a smaller engine, older models have no reverse, they dont look as good from the front and i dont like polaris. every one else tells me that raptors are faster and better, but the predator is a lot more comfatable. i dont hate the predator [it was one of my choices for a racing quad] but i doubt it can perform like my raptor.

Well isnt it interesting that polaris people vote pred, and yamaha people vote rap.
To the original poster: You are not getting unbiased opinions here. This isnt the forum for this question. You should go to an unpartial forum such as Kawi and ask this question.
You ask a question about polaris vs yamaha IN the polaris forum, you get garbage like this:
You will probably get the same crap in the yamaha forum. You need to ask this question in an unpartial forum such as Kawi to get the 'most' unbiased, and honest answers possible on a forum filled with a lot of kids that seem to have experience with one bike only. The one they currently have.
You see, the people that respond are the folks who own ONE of the two machines and they will say whatever they can think up to put the quad they bought 'on top'.
If you were to ask ME... I would tell you that I dont like Polaris' quality. I think for the most part its below par. However, in my opinion the Predator is the best polaris yet.
But then again, you didnt ask about reliability or quality.
As far as straight line performance, Ive read mags that say the predator is faster.
