Does anyone have this billet throttle? And if so how do you like it? Thanks.

 

I have the older HPD throttle and it works Ok,but, you will have a Hell of a time getting a cable to work for the predator.
HPD DOES NOT HAVE A CABLE FOR THE PREDATOR THAT WORKS WITH THE THUMB THROTTLE!!
Also the new smaller one hasn't worked out for them.They still Don't have them..

If you do use it on the Predator you can cut the stock cable to work but, it will be short and you will have to rerun the cable back to the carb the shortest way.

The Scrambler/Trailblazers they have figured out.They have a cable that works with the billet thumb throttle and is quite nice.
HPD is the best place for scramblers/trailblazers but they aren't that great for the predator.

 

I've got the older style on my 99 250 TB. I've had it on for about 4 years and replace a broke
cable only one time. I like the way it feels over the stock one and it can be adjusted to suit
your own taste.

 

Sounding more and more tempting. Hey Talonhawk. Did you have to buy a new cable to work with this throttle.

 

The one that I bought came with its own cable. So if your are asking if the stock cable
will work the answer is NO it won't. When my cable broke I got a new one pretty fast.
I don't know about this new lever that HPD has out now. I would think that HPD would
have cables for the scrambles.

 

Well I've got the single throttle cable when I got the injector elimnator. Just wondering if this one will work. The one on HPD's website sure looks like the one you have. But on HPD's website it says "all new" and says it requires their own special cable to work. It costs an extra 30 bucks too.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img]

 

I'm telling you the new throttle isn't ready. they still have the older one,and yes you can mod the old stock cable but you need to cut the sheilding back. so you would have to cut the piece that goes on the stock throttle off and exspose the wire more. you also need to cut and find a fitting that screws into the throttle. A dermel(spelling)tool works great for all this.
However, you can get the cable you need from HPD<<UNLESS IT"S FOR THE PREDATOR << They still don't have that figured out.

HPD is the place for the trailblazers and scrams but forget about the predator they suck!!!

Fixit you realize that dune is talking about a throttle for the scrambler and not a predator rite?

 

Yes I know that . Just a warning about the pred and HPD. The throttle should work great on the scrammy/trailblazer.

 

They do look alike but I'm pretty sure that the new one is a smaller version of the
old one. I would think that no matter which version you get that they have a
cable for it. As long as its for a scrambler![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
