Default Help, gas problem...

Ok guys i just ate at a mexican restaurant and..... nah just kidding, my wife has a 01 scrammy that she just loves(4x4). And it has a small gas leak, we can smell it but cant find a dayum thing. I put it in my shop and no spots, but the gas is slowly going down. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you..

your float in the carb may be sticking causing gas to go directly into the cylinder. not good. it will dillute the oil. check your oil level it may be rising and smell like gas. i cant remember if a scrambler is 2 or 4 stroke. this info is more for 4 stroke. but i would definately check this either way.

storj beat me to it. thats what i was goin to say. you can just shut the valve when its not running or just clean the carb out GOOD. if it has sat with old gas in it, this would be why your float is sticking.

just grab a screw driver and take the panels off make sure that you remember where the rigth screws go. dont know how hard it is because i dont have a scrambler but it shouldnt be to difficult

Ok so, when the 4 wheelers are put into storage the gas needs to be drained to prevent this? Would sta-bil prevent this from happening?

yup. just put the sta-bil in and run it for a while to get it in the carb and then shut the gas off and let the motor run till it shuts off.
