Snowshark,

Put away your Four Wheel Action Magazine and go ride the two machines side by side.

I believe that the writer of that article was influenced by too many pain killers as the result of "failed photo opps" or... perhaps throwing a bone to the dealers with 2000 models in stock.

I have ridden a SP500, for a short distance. The Polaris (Pro Caliber) dealer won't let you test drive any quad, he told me it was an insurance issue. I told him there was no way I was going to buy a quad without first taking it for a spin! The sales guy told me that I could return it if I didn't like it. Yeah, I have heard that song & dance from a salesman before.

I would love to take the HO for a ride.

Thor,

You are right about the magazines, take everything they publish with a grain of salt.

Heck, at $5999 thats only $600 more than my Rancher, now thats a deal.

Which color is faster?

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!

Lost in all this is the spark plug heat range change! The 01 has a 6 where the others had a 5. This was likely due to a compression (increase) change.

In another post, '00 guys are caling their 500's lazy, and low powered. Who knows?

The yellow is the fastest, and the camo is the slowest, because you cant see it move, LOL

Does the K & N air filter with the stage 1 jets kit really make a difference or should I just use the air filter?
TIA
Al

Hey Deisel Pro, why does NGK Platnum sell just one plug for the Sramblers, Magnums, and Sportsman? The new HO has the same motor as the Scrambler so it must have the same plug? Maybe NGK is only making one Platnum plug for all the 500s. The reason I'm asking is because I'm running the Platnums in my new HO, I almost have it tuned just right.

Dunno.

Look at the decal on the rewind housing. It calls for a BMK?6 and the earlier ones ran BMK?5. My guess is that Polaris changed this, but the aftermarket has not yet caught on???

Also changed is where the snorkel exits. 01 screws tp the lid. By the looks of Greg's pics, the 00 comes out the front lower.

What elevation are you at? Jet size? mods?
