Default 26" tall tires

I have a 2004.5 700 efi i am looking at new tires and was thinking about going up to a 26" tall tire how much power will this rob me? Most of my riding is done in low range so i don't thinking it should be that big of a problem. Please give me some opinions!!!!!

I just put 25 inch mudlite XL's on my 400. Lost some acceleration, even on hardpack, so I think its the weight. Gained about 2-3 mph top end, so I think they are also taller than the stock 25's.

With a 700, I think you might lose some power with 26's, but not much. Most people who re-tire 700's go up to 27 or higher. I'm sure one of them will see this and can tell you, but I don't see how 26 could slow you down too much.
