Thumbs up 2001 polaris 400 4x4.

I own a 2001 and that's what it says on the title. I also have a 99. the 99 has v force reeds, 39mm carb, k&n filter, clutch kit, fmf pipe, hot eats head and a big bore kit in it. I don't know how fast it is other than FAST ENOUGH !!! the 01 is stock other than a new Numara piston n rings.
I plan on looking online and searching for others, you guys got me thinking here !!!
be safe and have fun and live to see another day.

Polaris has not made the 400 2 stroke in awhile. The last ATV to use the 378cc was the 400 Trailblazer in 2003.
The Scrambler 400 was a 2wd in 2002.
The last 4x4 with the 387 was the 2000 Xplorer and Scrambler 4x4.

Last year of the 2 stroke 400 4x4 was the 2002 Scrambler and Explorer. When just the Trail Blazer 400 came out in 2003,we knew it was the end of the line. 1990-1993 on the 350, 1994-2003 on the 400. 13 years in one form or another, plus plenty of parts still available. Probably will see this engine go on for another 20 years or more as people keep rebuilding them.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Yep, and they contined to make the 250 2 stroke a few more years after that.

I love my scr400 and probably will never sell it. I rebuilt it once 10 years ago... Still running very strong!

If you really want to make it fast look up Rick Ritter at RcR or Darrel at HPD.

I don't know if the 400 has a faster maximum speed but it will get there a lot quicker. One of my friends has a Sport 400 and without the weight of the 4WD I think it's even quicker.

Modified they do, my trail ported/iped Scr400 will do 73 mph GPS.
