Default 2003 SP500 HO v/s 2005 SP800EFI

Just wondering input on the power difference I can expect? Selling my 500HO in a few days with 340 miles on her and gonna pick up a 2005 800.
Will I notice a huge difference in power?

Big differance the 800 wants to fly, I have clocked mine at 69.8 MPH using GPS. It just flat out rocks up to about 50MPH, then it starts to taper a bit. You might want to hold out for the 06 model. Just search the forum for the term 800 and read up abit.

i have the 500, and from what EVERYONE is saying, do a search for "sportsman 800", and you can tell a big notice difference, not only in power, but speed, starting easier, and most of all, GAS MILEAGE-LOL, you should enjoy it...

Honestly the difference is night and day, the 800 will destroy it power wise.

You only have 340 miles on an 03?

The 800 will smoke your 500 though.

I thought about waiting for an 06 but from what Ive been told, the 2006's are only cosmetic different and I figured that If they made any changes to correct the melting plastic and things they were probably incorporating those changes in the 05's they were making now.
Chattanooga said they wouldnt have 06's till october.

Huge power diff. Bad on gas too but that should not matter if your buying 800's. My buds got a 03 500le and drove mine for a hour and was trading in for one untill last weekend when he was ridin' w/ me and saw another pathetic problem w/mine. He's keepin his 5. now and waitin to see what people think of the Bomb. His 500 has been great as well as my 00 400 . My new one is like a Yugo. My2c

I agree, If you can look at some that had problems then look for the improvments on a 05 model you should be fine.
