why not get a trailblazer the 250 is a great motor to learn on and you can upgrade it as your kids riding skills get better, there are a lot of aftermarket parts for the trailblazer and nothing that i know of for the phoenix.

I just bought a 200 for my wife (63) because she did not want to have to deal with shifting. We rode it in the dunes at Pismo this weekend. I am very disappointed with the proformance. The low end loads up and if you do not clean it out before shifting into forward it does not have the power to get you up much of an incline. It never seems to top out and it acts if a govener is in place to limit the power. The transmission does not always stay in gear and it has a tendency to pop out when first engaged. For a 200 cc 4 stroke our little yamaha blaster ran circles around it. Polaris has a good rep but this unit is a dog. I am going to take it back to the dealer but would like to know if this horse is dead and what I have is what we will have to live with or are their some changes to be made to make it proform as at least as well as one of the grand kids 100cc.

You cant go wrong with a 250EX. Probaly one of the most relibable atv's ever made. It's got power to spare for a 250. My daughter can follow me anywhere my Kodiak goes. It's a lot funner to ride and it never has a problem.

Get a newer '05 or a '06 Phoenix ,because by this time Polaris fixed the Phoenix's problem and it's an amazing machine! It is a much better machine than the 250 EX, trust me. Also Rick Ritter has has an exhaust for it and a cam and carbeurator in developement. And at www.rockymountainatv.com there is tire and wheel combos that fit the phoenix. All that you do is order Polaris Preadator rims and tires and they fit the phoenix. Along with the tire and rim combo at a great price they have a UNI filter that fits the Phoenix. For the UNI filter you order it at the size 2 and a half by 5. Then finally at www.erlandsonperformance.com/new/ATV-polaris.php the sport utilty clutch kit fit s the Phoenix for better accelaration. You should really get a polaris phoenix also you can check out my Phoenix on this website at the bio of ch701sp. I hope that you become a member of Polaris! Hello, I saw that you fixed the Phoenix's back fire problem. What did you have to do? Mine backfires sometimes. Can you explain to what you did?

A friend of mine bought last years model for his twelve year old daughter. There is something wrong with the shaft linkage, it frequently clunks and grinds when the rear suspension moves. He bought it back to the dealer several times and they still haven't fixed it. I had a girlfriend that bought a 250ex, I agree with everyone else, great rock solid machine as long as she learns how to shift. If shifting is an issue, might I recommend a Yamaha 350 Wolverine, full automatic, and she can grow into it over the next four or five years even.
