I have seen a few posts asking about the K&N Power kits. From my experience with this kit it was a waste of $120.00. The performance gains were just not there!! I ride a 2000 SP500 and a friend of mine has a 1998 SP500, we have raced many times and he consistently takes my 2000 even with the power kit installed. Has anyone else tried this kit with any luck?

I also have raced a few 2000 models and have jumped to large leads. My only guess is the EBS vs. non EBS.

A polaris mechanic told me the Newer EBS Sp500's have less power than the older models because of the EBS.

He siad something about the EBS beening geared higher, but wouldn't the auto trans adjust that?

The 1998 Sportsman does have EBS, so that is not factor here.

Why doesn't somebody post what jets it comes with? You can probably buy it in pieces cheaper if you know what all the K&N kit comes with!
