well it sure worked in Oz - they had a "gun buy back" scheme cept it was compulsory

But other political similarities mentioned by political commentators [so dont shoot the messenger] was that both Howard and Bush came to office "under a cloud" and both were looking like weak ***** on a rock and unlikely to go anywhere, especially a new term UNTIL the massacre for Howard and 9/11 for Bush

after that both went great albeit history will say both were the most boring, stupid [you name it] leaders we ever had - so IMHO very disturbing

then both of em join forces to go attack another country for no reason [cept oil]

Well I'm glad we went over there for oil. If we didn't we'd probably be paying around $3.00 a gallon now. Wait a minute..........we are!!!!!!!!!!! Dam n it, we went over there to steal all this oil and my gas prices still keep going up ?????? What the hell is wrong in this world today, when you can go bomb the crap out of an oil rich country and still be paying 3 times the price you were paying 5 years ago ?

well essentially nuthin "wrong" with the world - it just got globalised

but I gave up caring a long time ago, like I am still trying to work out why I had to get dragged out of my chosen "life style" to go to Vietnam and they didnt even have oil [something about a Yellow Domino Theory!!!!]

Or was it to stop the commos - well globalisation is based on everything is made in largest commo country for $1 a day wages and we simply buy everything for peanuts

but who's complaining, I'll just be a consumer - after all I helped save the world from the Yellow Peril so I deserve it??? - but how come I can buy all these thing on a low income because OF the yellow peril??

maybe you're right - maybe world IS F**** up, but bottom line going forward is I'm all right Jack, or if you can't beat em, join em

Hey, this is supposed to be a thread about everything useless.
Now we're talking about people, like our president.

yeah - and this week on History Channel [guess its the same as you have in USA] it is "Vietnam War Week" - even some soppy movie with "our Nicole" [Kidman] saying in the trailer "we really did stand behind our boys"

ME?? - I just watch my Rambo movies, First Blood - at least they told the truth of what the public thought of "their brave soldiers" [by spitting on em]

strange world but just watch as THIS war also gets blamed on the soldiers in order to bail out the government and the WMD fiasco - just needs a bit of strategic footage by an embedded TV crew and bingo

sorry - must get back to Polaris stuff - just letting off some steam

We drink so fast it can't get warm.
I'll restock the wall for Nlwarrior. He can sing better than me but he's on vacation, so I have to do all the dirty work.
99 bottles of beer on the wall, take one down, pass it around, yeehaw!
