I agree with the diesel but I don't tow that much and the driving I do doesn't qualify for a diesel.
I think the past big dispute was the mpg of the diesels. I think the Dodge was the rare exception of getting over 20mpg. Ford and Chevy can't come close in real world numbers, not the sticker.
I still hate the smell of diesel especially if it has to be in my garage.

My Ford work truck has a 7.3 diesel in it. It weighs 9200 pounds with all my stuff in it. Winter with idle time 12 to 14 mpg. Summer a consistant 15 to 15.5 mpg. I've heard stories of guys installing an upgrade chip and using a pulley under drive system and getting over 20 with the Fords. Doc
