This old man's gettin' back in the swing of things. Since I last posted about being back after a back surgery, complications, and hip replacement I've been doing a lot more riding. The hip replacement was over a year ago, June 2011. By the Fall I was back on the popo for some "easy" riding in the mine tailings area at St. Joe State Park. Now I'm back to tougher trails. A week at Hatfield-McCoy mostly on the greens, and blues of Rockhouse, Buffalo Mountain, and Pinnacle Creek. But I did ride a couple black trails on Rockhouse, and did just fine. I did do one easy get-off when the left rear wheel slipped into a rut, and as the bike shifted over my momentum kinda slid me off the seat, and onto the ground. No harm done. I've been riding the trails in Mark Twain National forest in S.E Missouri, and also St. Joe State Park. In fact I just returned from Mark Twain yesterday, and am leaving for St. Joe Thursday. I've done some rutted, bolder, and root filled climbs, and down hills that I never thought I'd try. All without a problem...other than an increased heart beat!!! St. Joe has some of the roughest stuff I've seen. Not as much, or as long a stretch as some black H/M trails have, but pretty technical all the same.
Glad to be back in the saddle again!!!
One old nut!

Thanks.
ya, been awhile. Still have the 2 Kawi kfx 700s but got more into street bike riding.
Not sure why an ol man wants to speed around on the streets but maybe it's a mid life crisis thing.

Nice toys Budman. I would hurt myself BAD if I had a Ninja. I'm more of a scooter guy.

I had one of these but didn't wheelie it like this guy can. I had the seat on mine more often than not.
