1987 polaris cyclone 250x

Okay so I got a 1987 Polaris cyclone 250x in pristine condition but I have been running into a problem brand new carburetor I would get it to run and it would drive a minute and then die and be hard to start back up I have been told it could be a warped Head so once it warms up to operating temp the head goes back to it’s warp and looses just enough compression for it not to run and I’m thinking that’s what is is and I was also wondering if I could use the older trail boss top ends for it?
