Default Help! Anywhere, anyhow?

Hey, I'm having the same problem with my wifes Phoenix. Spark plug shows that it's running lean. I'm starting to think I need to increase the jet size. But, Before I do that I was wondering if anyone thought that it could be the rev limiter adjustment (I assume theres an adjustment). I notice that in reverse, when the rev limiter kicks in, it acts and sounds a lot like when it's acting up, It's kinda like my nine year old son, when I tell him to clean his room (there's a-lot of Spitting, and Sputtering and backfiring).

But that doen't explain why it only runs bad once it's warmed up?

Oh no! The wife has been eyeing new Hondas...HELP!

Default Help! Anywhere, anyhow?

Was at the dealer yesterday, he told me about a lot of Polaris Bulletins being sent on the 05 Phoenix. I found out mine had the stator go. They looked at it and said that it was not the carb.

It could be anything (not in a particular order)

Clogged air filter
Dirty fuel filter
bad gas
The Stator
timing
Electrical short

Mine backfired like a firing range until I bent the clip in the accl housing and it never did again.
Dealer said the stator was going to be $325-350...I found it from Poalris for $208! Looks like I'll be doing another repair...

Default Help! Anywhere, anyhow?

On monday I went to a 06 test ride for polaris.THE head guys said that the cdi or the rectifer goes bad on the 05's(can't remember which one). My own dealer has seen this happen to them, as they were putting one out on display. Call ATLANIC POLARIS IN BRICK NJ,,they maybe able to help you 732-920-7669. this maybe the problem, and i'm not sure so don't quot me on this but i think they said they were going to cover this(polaris warrenty).Ask the guy at atlantic polaris, what can be causing this problem.

Thanks Colt,

THis sounds resonable, Because the thing seems to run better if you let off of the throttle a little-bit. I'll try it....

Oh well, I gave up and traded it in on a Yamaha Raptor 350. It matches the wifes riding style better anyway...

Thanks for all the help guys
