Anyone have tracks on a 6X6

I just got a 2000 SP 6X6 and am considering buying a set of tracks (used from a guy who is selling for about 1/2 price). I intend to use the 6X6 for duck hunting through marsh and flooded fields, have changed out the bed to one with 4 seats and a rack to hold decoys. I am not as concerned about a great ride, as much as about getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere with three people on back, of which one might be too old to walk out. Does anybody have any experience with the tracks regarding 1) how does it ride on gravel roads, grass, etc (speed and steering) 2) How significantly does it affect traction through mud, especially with lots of weight in the bed. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Duckman

I just sold my 6x6 with trax.As far as for getting
it stuck, can't imagine how.The only thing I found that would stop it was deep water or cliffs.
Steering is not bad most of the time, you have to
let off the gas sometimes or it will just go straight. The ride is alot better than with tires.
The fastest I ever had it going was 30mph,real
smooth at that speed.Hope this helps, keep in mind
everthing you do changes something.

A guy who deer hunts in our neighborhood has one set up much like you mentioned. Attatched 2 seats to the box somehow leaving room for hauling a deer. I have yet to see him lock the front axle in, let alone get stuck, they take that thing EVERYWHERE! Walks right up over snow & through mud as deep as the wheels like nothing. When asked what he uses the 4wd switch for, he says sometimes going uphill loaded he uses it to help steer better. He once hopped off in the snow, looking for a washout he knew was somewhere & sank to his waist. Seemed he had just gone over it. I don't think mud could stop it, short of drowning out the belt.
