Default can anyone help me with my trailblazer 400

hi. my trailblazer will not charge up the battery. I can still pull start it but the lights feed off the battery until its dead. even with it running the lights will not work if the battery is dead. I have replaced the battery and the magnet switch.I have looked all over for a wire that came off, the only thing I found is a wight clip under the black hood were the oil tank is that is not conected to anything but I cant find anything to connect it to. pleas can anyone help.

More than likely your voltage regulator is out. It's the flat, thin black box under the front nose piece!

It could also be the stator.

Get a volt meter, set it to AC voltage and check the yellow and yellow/red tracer wires while running. Those are your AC input to the regulator if I remember correctly. If you have it (20-40 volts) then more than likely the regulator is out. If you dont have AC current then you either have a bad stator or a broke wire or bad connection.
