Default is 1300 a good price for a 97' 500 sportsman

i am looking for a atv for my dad and this one is stuck in foward gear. any help apr. thanx

I would stay away from it myself. You will probably be nickeled and dimed to death and the $1300 Polaris will come with an average of $100 per month in repair costs. Polaris makes a great quad, but the older ones were prone to need repairs and even if it was a reliable machine for its age it is 8 years old. Wear and tear over 8 years on a quad really adds up. I would save a little longer and buy newer or even new. I really think you would be much happier with your purchase. A sour atv purchase really is upsetting and you will lose some, if not a good part of your investment when you want to get rid of it. JMHO.. Hope all works out.
