How did you determine that the springs are stiff?
Are the adjusters at the softest setting?

yep, they are as soft as adjuster goes. Not many miles on but I had a 02 that was alot softer.. Also compared to "my little group" 2-600s,my 700 ,the 400 and a few other brands it sits the highest and is the stiffest in rear.

I noticed when I rode a buddies 2004 SP700EFI that it had a much softer suspension than my 2004 SP400.....front and rear both. My rear shocks are set at the softest setting. We both liked the firmer feel of the 400.......but I should not have ridden the 700EFI.......I LOVED ALL THAT POWER!!!!

same on my 400, the rear shocks are so stiff. There're on the softest setting but my 500 i have them on the highest setting and they are still softer than my 400s. My 500 rides much softer than my 400, my 500 you hit any rock and the suspension moves, but if i jump my 400 it barely move the suspension in the rear so who knows
