Well I have never taken the recoil cover off my scrambler have you tryed undoing the the handle maybe it is like my Trail Blazers an have to get the handle off to take off cover. The bearing you are takling about you need to take the gear an the disk for the break off the shaft an then there are 2 bolts+nuts an then it should slide off. Hope this helps a little

The only thing I can help you with is the clicking of the starter, the battery is dead. Other than that, your on your own my friend.

If your swing arm has play in it like you can move forward an back with it then what has happend an seem to happen is the swing arm bolt has come lose an if it moves back an forth alot then it make the hole in the frame eggshaped where it bolts up. The cheapest an easyest way yo fix it is when you are looking at the frame where the bolt gose there is a washer welded on. You wil need to grind the welds an get it off. Then once off get a new washer the same size an weld it on where the old one was an make sure you put some lock tight on the bolt an nut an get it realy tight. I have done this to my TB

I think I can help with the swingarm being loose. If it is bad, likely the washer welded to the frame has the hole egged-out.
If I remember right, either a flywheel or harmonic balancer bolt washer off of a 350 GM engine is the same size as the washer on the frame, and is a little thicker than the original. Make sure you use a new bolt and locking nut, and be sure install the little plate that goes under the bolt head with the ears you bend against the flats of the bolt head to keep it from turning.
