Default drive clutch question

I bought a used 2001 500ho and 3 weeks ago I had a bearing go on the drive clutch. I decided to take the clutch apart and replace the bearing. When I got the clutch apart I noticed several cracks staring at the base of the clutch working their way out. So I ordered a clutch thinking I didn't have the ebs (after comparing parts on the exploded parts list). I was wrong. I got the new clutch today and I noticed the difference. Can I still use the clutch? everything fits the same and it looks like it lines up with the driven clutch. Will it work or will I screw something up?

You can run that clutch but you will no longer have ebs. You will also need to ge the belt off of a scrambler or sport a non ebs belt, you should be able to run the same spring and weights. Performance wise you will noitice more bottom end because with the non ebs primay you will be starting in a lower gear when it comes to the drive ratio.

Hey Speedwerx I'm thinking of doing the same thing to my 700 by putting a 500 Scrambler primary on it. Can you tell me the difference in the belts Scrambler Vs. Sportsman ? Both look to measure 40 7/8" Thanks.

The length and width are about the same the ebs belt is a little bit thick though. If you wanted I think you woul dbe able to run the ebs belt if you wanted but I thinkthe std. might be a little softer but I'm not sure. Just remember to check belt deflection once you put the none ebs primary on you will have to run a little but of slack in the belt compared to the ebs models.

Yea the thing is already a hoss and the Team roller I got from you made a big difference. I can't wait to test the non-ebs primary out.
