My friend has a 2000 Scrambler 500. The electric start is only working intermittantly so, he started using the pull start only. Well, during a ride today, the recoil crapped out on it too! So, were are going to have to fix them. Has anyone ever had an issue with their electric start only working sometimes? I have not looked at it but, I figure it to be a ground or something like that. Anyway, if there are some unique issues to look for on these quads, let me know. Thank you.

Sounds more like bad brushes

 

Are the brushes replaceable? I am going to have a look at his quad this week. I will take a look at both of those things. Thanks for helping out!
