Baldwin's great, there are gas stations and restaurants right off the trails. thanks for the heads up on silver lake tho, me and the girl freind and about .... 7-8 other quads were plannin a camping trip up there, but maybe we'll just goto baldwin anyway b/c we're planning for a weekend... (she'll be on the X, and i'd prefer to be somewhere sandy cause she's not toooo experienced with it yet.)

my gf rides my 2000 scrambler 400 4x4 and she loves it. she wont let me get rid of it. I think its to big for her though and she would be faster on something lighter but they dont make anything light that is 4x4 and auto and sporty. She takes about an hour to get use to it each ride and then she flys on it through the trails. its a great quad to learn on for her with the single break action and auto with 4x4 she never gets stuck or crashes with it. Just encourage her not to go faster than she feels safe doing. I feel that scram doest do real well in the sand handling wise because its to tippy in the sand because you tend to drive faster in the open sand and turn faster and the stock tires grip instead of slip making it tip over so have her be careful in the open pits. My gf tiped it twice because of that.

I will check out the baldwin area. I am planning going out next weekend sept 16th or the weekend after sept 23rd somewhere.

Be carefull if you take you girl to the dunes its not for beginners unless you stay on the flatlands.
The landscape changes daily with the wind and there are dropoffs and very steep dowsides to some hills.

I think its a great time at Silver Lk. , a big party most the time but it does cost and is somewhat of a hastle.

I mostly ride Bull Gap and St Helens.
